The day my forge blower died and I found out why after 3 hours

I was mid-way through a batch of 12 coat hooks last Saturday when the blower on my forge just stopped, no warning, no weird noise. Turns out the capacitor had been going bad for weeks and I only noticed because the motor was starting slower and slower, I just thought it was cold weather. Anyone else deal with a part that gives you subtle signs but you ignore them until it fully quits, or am I the only one who learns the hard way?
