Last July I had a crew of three for a big driveway and patio wash in Phoenix, and by 10am two of them walked off after a pay dispute with no warning. I spent the next 8 hours running both machines solo in 108 degree heat, finishing at 7pm with blistered hands but the job done. Has anyone else had a crew bail at the worst possible time and how did you handle the next hire to make sure it didn't happen again?
Is losing two guys off one job really enough to rebuild your whole hiring process around? People quit over money all the time, and Phoenix in July is its own kind of brutal, so maybe it was less about your management and more about the timing. Seems like the fix is just paying better or checking in before the heat hits, not some big overhaul.
