Spent 20 minutes deciding between a Park Tool and a cheap spoke tension meter
I went with the Park Tool one because the guy at the shop said the cheap ones drift after like 50 wheels. Has anyone else had a no-name tension meter just lose calibration on them?

Bought a cheapo off Amazon once, it was basically a lie detector for spokes. Worked great for the first 12 wheels, then started telling me my front wheel had more tension than a suspension bridge. Now it lives in the bottom of my toolbox as a fancy paperweight. Did you at least get a discount on the Park Tool or did that sales guy make you pay full retail?

That whole 12 wheel thing is exactly what the shop guy warned me about, he said the cheap ones start lying to you right when you need them most. I paid full retail for the Park Tool, but they had a flat repair clinic going on that day so I got a free valve core tool thrown in which felt like a win. How long have you had yours and have you ever bothered to check the calibration against a known reference like a new wheel build from a reputable builder?
