Serious question, my eggs went from sticking to sliding out clean after I started doing one dumb thing
For about 3 months my scrambled eggs glued themselves to my $30 nonstick pan until I switched from spraying oil on a cold pan to just letting it heat up dry for 90 seconds first, and now they slide out like nothing. Is the dry preheat thing actually the reason or was my spray can just trash the whole time?
Dry preheat is def part of it because the pan metal needs to expand a bit before the coating does its job right, but 90 seconds sounds like it was also just finally getting hot enough. Spray oils are sneaky too since a lot of them have lecithin or other junk that burns and leaves a sticky film, so cold pan plus spray equals glue basically. I had the same deal with my pan and switched to a tiny bit of real butter once it's warm and everything slides. Try the dry heat thing with butter and see if it gets even better. Your spray can might not be trash but it wasn't helping either.
