Skin fade looked perfect in mirror, terrible in photos for months
I spent like 4 months doing skin fades that looked clean in my shop mirror but showed up patchy and uneven in every photo clients took. Finally figured out the lighting in my station was hiding the blend. I moved my light source to the side instead of overhead and now I catch the spots before the client walks out. It was costing me reviews and return clients, three people asked for refunds in June alone. Do you guys check your work with a handheld light or just trust the mirror?

Side light is the only way to catch it.
