My cordless clipper battery gave out halfway through a fade yesterday

It was a Wahl Magic Clip I've had for about two years. The client was in the chair and I was just starting to blend the sides when it just died. I had to plug in my old corded Andis to finish the cut, which was a hassle. Has anyone else had a Wahl battery fail that fast, and what did you replace it with?

Wait, it only lasted two years? (I figured those things would hold up longer, but maybe @kim_martin has a point about the heavy use.) That's a real bummer mid-cut.

Is two years really that short for a battery? I mean, using it every day on multiple clients puts it through a lot of cycles. Maybe the corded backup is just part of the job sometimes.
