Had a guy ask for a 'business in the front, party in the back' cut last month

He was totally serious, wanted a full corporate fade on the sides and top. I asked him to clarify the 'party' part, and he pointed to the back of his head and said, 'Just leave it long, like a secret.' I did the fade, left the back untouched, and he looked in the mirror and said, 'Perfect, they'll never know at the office.' Has anyone else gotten a request that made you pause the clippers?

Honestly that sounds like a client who knows exactly what he wants, which is a good thing. A clean fade with length kept in the back is a totally legit style, not some weird joke. It's just a modern take on classic shapes. Maybe the "party" description was just his way of asking for contrast, which is a solid barbering technique. Dude probably just wanted a professional look that still had some personal flair, and the barber delivered. Nothing to pause the clippers over, really.

@schmidt.grace I get your point, but calling it a "party in the back" still sounds like a joke to me.

Ever tried describing a paint finish and sounded like a total weirdo?
