My sourdough starter died after 2 weeks of neglect, lesson learned
I got busy with work and forgot to feed it for like 12 days straight in Denver's dry heat. When I finally checked, there was a weird pinkish liquid on top and it smelled like nail polish remover. I tried to revive it with a big feed but it just sat there, no bubbles at all. Had to toss it and start from scratch with a new batch of flour and water. Anyone else lost a starter this way and found a better way to keep it alive during busy weeks?

Ugh, really? I mean it sucks but it's just flour and water. Toss it, mix a new one, you're back in business in a week. People act like losing a starter is losing a pet or something lol.
