Why does nobody talk about the 2005 The Fog remake?

I grabbed a used DVD of it for 3 bucks at a pawn shop in Reno, figuring it couldnt be worse than the original. Within 20 minutes the fog effects looked like someone dumped a Photoshop filter over the whole movie, and the acting made me miss the cardboard characters from the 1980 version. Has anyone else actually finished this thing, or did you bail after the lighthouse scene too?

and my buddy Marcus actually sat through the whole thing. He bought it at a gas station outside Fresno for a dollar and thought he got a steal. He said the fog looked like someone spilled milk on a TV screen. By the time the ghost pirates showed up, he was laughing so hard he choked on his nachos. He finished it just to see if it got worse, and it did. He still keeps the DVD on his shelf as a joke, calls it his cursed treasure.
