My neighbor said to put the bird feeder 10 feet from the window and she was dead right
I had my feeder mounted right on the glass for 2 winters and kept finding stunned finches on the patio, probably 6 or 7 of them. My neighbor Ruth, who has fed birds in her yard off Orchard Street for 20 odd years, said to move it back 10 feet and skip the window mount. I grumbled about drilling a pole in the yard but did it in April, and I have not picked up a single dazed bird since. The funny part is now I barely see them up close, so I sit on the porch with coffee like some old guy watching traffic. Anyone else fought this and gone the other way with a feeder right on the glass?
