My brand new patio umbrella snapped in half during a light breeze yesterday

I just put it up two months ago, a big 10-foot one that cost me almost $300. It was a nice afternoon, not even that windy, maybe 15 miles per hour tops. I was sitting under it reading, heard a loud crack, and the whole thing just folded over. The main pole snapped clean through right above the base. I was so mad, I just stood there staring at it for a full minute. The company said it had a 'wind rating' but clearly that was a lie. Now I've got this broken metal pole and a heap of fabric in my yard. Has anyone found a patio umbrella that can actually handle a bit of weather, or am I just doomed to buy a new one every season?

Expensive stuff breaking" is the worst. I just called their customer service.

Remember that time at the beach when a seagull stole my whole sandwich? Makes me wonder if stuff is just built worse now.
