Hot take: I gave up on the perfect lawn and just let the clover take over
After three summers of fighting crabgrass in my Ohio yard, I tossed a bag of white clover seed and it choked out the weeds while staying green. Anyone else find a plant that solved a big problem for them?

Mint took over my entire herb garden.

Been there, it's a total takeover. You gotta dig it all up and plant it in its own deep pot, like a 5-gallon bucket. Even then, check the bottom every few months because those runners will try to escape. I lost a whole rosemary bush to mint runners once, they choked it out.

Try sinking a plastic pot into the ground first, then plant the mint inside it. The roots can't spread as easy that way. I mean, it still might escape but it slows it down a lot.
