Check your crawlspace vapor barrier before spring rain hits, mine was installed upside down
Had a guy out to look at some musty smell in our crawlspace off Cascade Road last week and he showed me the 6 mil plastic was laid with the wrong side up, so water was pooling on top of it instead of draining under the house. He said he sees this on probably 3 out of 10 homes he inspects around here because whoever installs it just rolls it out without checking. Cost me $850 to have it pulled up and redone right, but he told me waiting another wet season would've meant new joists. Anyone else had a contractor catch something like this after the fact?
