Update: I was wrong about stacking moon shots, a number in Sky and Telescope changed my plans
I used to think stacking 50 moon frames was overkill for a casual shot. Then I read in Sky and Telescope that the atmosphere smears details at about 1 arcsecond on a typical night in my area, and stacking 100 frames pulled out crater rims I never caught in single shots. My back yard in Tucson is not special, so I figured it was mostly luck. What frame counts are you all running on bright targets like the moon?
