The guy at McDonald's in Tucson who pointed out the Pleiades to me
I was grabbing a late burger around 2am back in March and the parking lot lights were half dead. This older employee on his smoke break saw me staring at my phone and just said 'look up, that cluster is easier to see when you stop squinting at the screen.' He pointed out a fuzzy patch near Orion. I went home, pulled out my 8 inch dob, and found it in 30 seconds. Now I always ask what people see before I set up my gear. Has anyone else gotten a good astronomy tip from a random stranger in a boring spot?
