Guy at the laundromat in Reno bet me $20 he could guess my job from my socks
I was folding clothes at a laundromat on Wells Ave in Reno about 2 weeks ago and this older guy next to me just stared at my feet and goes "you work in a kitchen, right?" I do not, I do data entry from home, but he was weirdly close because I cook all day for my family and spill stuff on everything. We got to talking and he said he has done this little game for like 30 years and gets it right maybe 7 out of 10 times just from shoes and socks. He told me nurses wear specific clog brands, servers have beat up black sneakers, and guys in trades almost never wear white socks. I bought him a coffee instead of paying the bet and he guessed 4 more people in the room and only missed one. Do you think you could guess a stranger's job from just their shoes, or is this guy just really lucky and a little bit creepy?
