Bought a $220 ground penetrating radar off Craigslist, huge waste

Thought I could scan my backyard for buried foundation stones before digging, but the thing needs training and a laptop setup that takes an hour. Anyone else get lured by cheap survey gear that turns out worthless for hobby work?
