A field school supervisor in Turkey told me I was digging too fast, best advice I ever got

Back in 2019 at the Sagalassos site I was flying through layers, proud of how much dirt I moved. My supervisor just said 'you're not mining, you're reading a book page by page' and made me redo a 2 meter square. That slow approach caught 3 pottery sherds and a coin I would've smashed, and it changed how I treat every trench since. Anyone else have a dig boss who corrected their technique in a way that stuck with them?
