I finally tried cabling a co-dominant oak instead of recommending removal
Two years after installing 3 steel cables on a 60-foot split oak in Portland, the tree dropped a 4-inch limb right through the client's shed, so was I wrong to avoid the cut, or is cabling just buying time while the real move is always the saw?
