That one customer request that completely flipped my dryer vent routine

Had a lady in Phoenix last month insist I use a flexible foil duct instead of the rigid metal I always install. I argued with her for 10 minutes until she pulled out code from the 2021 IRC showing flex was fine for her short run. Now I carry a tape measure and check the actual distance before defaulting to metal, saves me about 20 minutes per job. Anyone else had a homeowner teach them something that made you rethink a habit?
