A retired tech in Dayton told me to stop carrying so many parts on the truck, and he was right
He said he ran his whole route for 20 years with just two bins in the back, and after I cleared half my van out I finished three more calls a day for two weeks straight. Curious if anyone else has trimmed their stock down and what you keep on hand now.
Read a thread on a garage owners forum a while back where a guy said he tracked every part he pulled off his truck for six months. Turned out like 80 percent of his stock never got touched. The 20 percent that did was pretty much the same stuff over and over, belts, hoses, common sensors, that kind of thing. He cut the dead weight and said his back thanked him as much as his route did. Funny how much junk we carry around just because we think we might need it someday.
