Subbed vs dubbed, I swapped sides after 3 anime marathons

I used to swear by dubbed only, thought subs were too distracting with reading. Then I binged Attack on Titan season 2 in one night with subs because the dub lagged behind, and I caught way more emotional beats in the voice acting. Now I flip depending on the show, like I'll still dub comedy anime but go sub for heavy dramas. Anyone else do a hard 180 on this after a specific series or scene? What convinced you to try the other side?
