I spent 4 hours last Saturday looking for one missing sock and now I'm questioning my whole system
So here's the thing. My dryer has been eating socks for probably 2 whole years now and I just accepted it as a fact of life, you know? But last Saturday I decided I was gonna find the missing one from my favorite pair, the grey ones with the stripe, and I tore apart my whole laundry setup. I pulled the dryer out from the wall, checked the vent hose, looked under the drum, even stuck a flashlight down in there like some kind of mechanic. After 4 hours and a lot of sweating I found 11 socks total behind the machine, none of them were the one I wanted, and I just sat on the floor staring at this little pile feeling dumb. My roommate came home and asked what happened and I said "I won" but honestly I lost. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I'm losing it or if this is just how laundry works for everyone. Does anyone else have a spot where their missing socks just accumulate or is it just me and this cursed apartment?
Your roomie got played, "I won" is a lie we tell ourselves while sitting on the floor with 11 stranger socks. My dryer doesn't eat them, it trades them, so check the lint trap and the gap under the drum before you blame the apartment.
