My neighbor on Copper Ave told me he fixed his swamp cooler with a $12 part instead of calling a guy, and now I'm wondering if I've been overpaying for years
He showed me the burnt out pump and said the whole job took him 20 minutes, which got me thinking about how much I've handed over to HVAC folks here in Albuquerque just because I was scared to poke around in there myself, so has anyone else swapped their own cooler pump or am I about to flood my roof trying to save a buck?
