Finally fixed the swamp cooler rattle that drove me nuts all summer, and it was a $3 part
Our swamp cooler on the roof had this rattle since June that I could hear from the kitchen every time it kicked on, and I kept putting it off because I figured it was the motor going out. Last Saturday I finally hauled the ladder up there and found the whole thing was just a dried out rubber pad clip that let the panel vibrate, so I swapped in a new one from the hardware store on Menaul for about $3. Took me 15 minutes and the noise is completely gone. I felt like a genius and an idiot at the same time. Anyone else ever chase a weird noise for months and find out it was something dumb like that?
