Can we talk about how my 1950s Ventura house has zero insulation in the walls?
I had a guy out to look at my crazy high summer bills and he cut a small hole in a closet wall, and it was just empty. He said homes built in this part of Albuquerque before 1960 often skipped wall insulation completely because gas was cheap back then. Pulled a small piece of drywall in the hallway and yep, nothing but a little dust and one old newspaper from 1954. Anyone else in the older neighborhoods run into this, and did blowing in insulation actually make a dent in your bill?
