TIL I was shoveling my walk all wrong, side by side is way faster
After 4 winters in St. Albert I finally tried pushing snow in parallel strips instead of the zigzag thing and my driveway took 20 minutes less last Saturday. Anyone else switch to this or am I just late to the party?

My neighbor Gord watched me do the zigzag for two years and never said a word, then one day he just walks over, takes my shovel, and does three strips down the middle to show me. Turns out he sold snowblowers at Sears for 15 years and had all these little tricks. We spent the next hour doing his driveway together and he timed us, 14 minutes flat for a double wide. Now I can't look at a zigzag pattern without hearing his voice in my head.
