Picked the wired panel over the wireless one for a big job yesterday

Had to choose between running cat6 to every zone or going with a radio setup for a 4-story office building in Portland. I went wired because the client wanted zero latency on the door contacts. Have you ever run cable through a drop ceiling that was packed full of old phone lines?

4 story building in Portland with zero latency needs, wired is the right call every time.

Oh man, drop ceilings full of old phone lines are the worst! I swear every time I crack one open it's like a spaghetti monster made of cobwebs and despair. I always end up looking like I fought a raccoon afterwards, covered in dust and pulling copper wires out of my hair. Good on you for going wired though, that kind of latency requirement is a dealbreaker for wireless. Last time I tried to pull cable through a ceiling like that I tripped over a forgotten duct and landed face first in a pile of fiber dust. At least the cat6 will be rock solid once it's in, even if it takes a trip to the chiropractor to get it done.
