Just realized a 6 inch drill bit beats fishing wires through a finished wall every time
I had to add a keypad on a finished garage wall in Mesa last month and my usual flex bit kept wandering into the stud bay next door, so I grabbed a 6 inch auger bit and drilled the top plate from the attic instead. The whole run took 20 minutes with zero drywall damage, compared to the 2 patch jobs my flex bit cost me on the last house. Does anyone else keep a short auger bit in their bag just for top plate work, or am I late to this one?
