DSC vs Honeywell panels in older homes, one clearly wins
I've been swapping out old alarm panels in Chicago brownstones for the last 3 years. Finally put a DSC in a place that had knob and tube wiring and it handled the interference way better than the Honeywell I kept fighting with. Anyone else notice one brand handles dirty power better in pre-war buildings?

Yeah I had the same thing with a house in Logan Square that still had cloth wiring... put a Honeywell in there and it kept false alarming every time the furnace kicked on. Switched it out for a DSC and it's been solid for over a year now. The older buildings just have so much noise on the lines and DSC seems to filter it out better. I think Honeywell is fine for newer construction but if you're dealing with knob and tube or old BX cable the DSC is the way to go.
