Chose the old-school torque wrench over the digital one, now I'm second guessing myself

My Snap-on digital gave out after 5 years and I needed something fast for a 737 brake job. Grabbed the old beam-style from the back of the truck, the one my lead guy swore by since 1998. It felt fine on the first two fittings, but I kept rechecking each one because the needle bounce was driving me nuts. Spent an extra 40 minutes on a job that should've taken 20. Anyone else trust the analog tools more than the fancy ones, or am I just being paranoid about a worn out needle? Maybe I should just get it calibrated instead of eyeballing it.
