Am I the only one who safety wired a whole panel backwards and only caught it at inspection
Spent 45 minutes locking down 22 bolts on a flap track panel in Wichita last Tuesday, only to have the lead point out I ran every twist the wrong way, which taught me to double check the first one before committing, so does anyone else do a test run on the first fastener or am I just stubborn?
Man, I felt this in my soul. I did the same thing on a wing panel years back and my lead just stared at me for a solid ten seconds before he said a word. Forty five minutes of twisting and every single one was backwards, so yeah, you are not alone in that club. Doing a test run on the first one is just smart, not stubborn, because once you get in that rhythm your hands go on autopilot and your brain clocks out. Now I always lock one down and step back to eyeball it before I touch the other twenty one. Cheaper to look dumb for a minute than to rip out a whole panel and start over.
