Thought reheating pizza in the air fryer would dry it out, 350 for 3 minutes proved me wrong
I was a microwave guy for 20 years because I figured a hot air machine would just turn leftovers into cardboard. Now I do cold slices straight in at 350 for 3 minutes and the bottom crisps up like it came out of the oven, so what else have I been wrong about with this thing?
You say the bottom crisps up like it came out of the oven, but that's exactly the problem. An oven gives you a slow, even reheat all the way through, while an air fryer blasts the outside first and leaves the middle lukewarm at best. Three minutes at 350 might make the crust crackle, but I'd bet money the cheese is still cold in the center and the sauce never really wakes up. People act like crunchy equals good, but a slice that's hot on the edges and cool in the middle is worse than a soft one that's warm all the way through. And let's not pretend you can just leave it in longer, because then you get a burnt crust and cheese that turned into rubber. The microwave gets dumped on, but it heats the whole slice, not just the parts touching the hot air.
